Job Description:

Reporting to the Director of the Meredith Fund, the Associate Director will be responsible for implementing initiatives to increase giving and participation to the annual fund.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Plans and implements all faculty and staff annual giving initiatives, including, building and coordinating a committee of faculty and staff representatives to assist in meeting departmental fundraising goals. The associate director will be responsible for meeting fundraising and participation goals for faculty and staff giving and budget oversight.
  • Plans and implements young alumnae annual giving initiatives, including promotional and marketing efforts and growth of Ivy Society. The associate director will be responsible for meeting fundraising and participation goals for young alumnae.
  • Plans and implements giving societies and events for young alumnae, consecutive year donors, faculty and staff appreciation, and others. This includes Ivy and iris Society events and promotions, and other recognition events.
  • Works with the director to increase donor acquisition, retention, renewals, retrievals, and upgrades. This includes maintaining a list of prospects to cultivate and steward.
  • Serves as Meredith Fund staff liaison to volunteer boards and committees. Also coordinates all Meredith Fund Advisory Board meetings.
  • Assists in the planning and implementation of donor recognition events and campaign events.
  • Works with the Parents and Reunion Gift Officer for the implementation of special projects.
  • Serves as the second in charge of the Annual Giving office when the director is not available.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Skills Needed:

  • Ability to recruit, coordinate, supervise and motivate staff and volunteers to achieve fundraising goals.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Excel and The Raiser’s Edge.
  • Familiarity with higher education and single-gender education would be helpful.
  • A high level of energy and the willingness to handle a heavy workload and irregular hours.

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Five to seven years experience in writing, volunteer management and communication. Prior annual giving or membership experience is preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license.
