Marietta College seeks qualified applicants for the role of Advancement Database Administrator (ADA). The ADA, reporting to the Director of Advancement Services, will be responsible for maintaining database integrity and will be the main point of contact for report generation and query design, making it possible for other members of the team and College to be successful. The Advancement Database Administrator will work in close partnership with the Director of Major gifts and gift officers and will deliver research on prospects to provide and maintain a ready pool of qualified major gift and leadership gift prospects.  The ADA also assists the Director of Advancement Services with stewardship projects and database management.  

Essential Functions:

  • Design and build reports and queries to drive unit activity in major gifts, stewardship, annual fund, and engagement events.
  • Conduct research to provide deeper understanding of individuals, foundations, and organizations.
  • Design and build profiles of groups that equip team members to better execute processes.
  • Partner with major gifts director for the identification, research, analysis and pipeline creation for donors and potential donors to Marietta College.
  • Generate monthly benchmarks and metrics.
  • Maintain the professional and ethical standards set forth for the field by the Association of Professional Researchers for Advancement (APRA).
  • Assist Director of Advancement Services and Stewardship with endowment reporting, society membership and other stewardship processes.
  • Update records with the most current information including biographical, financial, and prospect tracking data.
  • Management of data import and export to ensure integrity of unit data in support of College priorities.
     

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience with CRM database (Raiser’s Edge preferred)
  • Three years of relevant experience
  • Experience in a non-profit environment; research or paralegal experience would be beneficial.
  • Strong analytical skills, an attention to detail, ability to coordinate, prioritize, and monitor projects to completion, and an aptitude to prepare reports containing an analysis of information gathered from public and other sources.
  • Knowledge of donor research techniques, best practices, and professional resources
