AGN is the world’s leading resource for annual giving programs. We provide training and tools that empower staff and volunteers to continuously learn, sharpen skills, and develop effective fundraising strategies. We are proud to have served more than 2,500 colleges, universities and independent schools—including over 700 institutions through our membership program, which provides ongoing access to training and professional development. Dan Allenby | Principal & Founder

Dan is an author, speaker, and consultant who has worked with educational institutions for more than 25 years to improve their fundraising results. An internationally recognized expert on annual giving, he is a CASE Laureate and recipient of the prestigious Crystal Apple Award for Teaching Excellence. His book Ideas for Annual Giving offers designs for helping organizations increase their levels of sustainable philanthropic support.

Dan has led annual giving and membership programs at Boston University, Tufts University, Georgetown University, and the National Geographic Society. He also served on the faculty for CASE’s Summer Institute in Educational Fundraising and chaired its Senior Annual Giving Professionals Conference and Annual Giving Workshop for five collective terms. He holds a B.A. in History from James Madison University and a M.B.A. from Boston College. Jennifer Fillare | Director of Member Relations

Jennifer oversees the operations of AGN’s membership and marketing programs. Her experience includes work in project management, event planning, and administration at a variety of organizations within the education, finance, technology, and construction industries. She holds a B.M. in Vocal Performance from Stetson University and an M.M. in Opera Performance from Queens College. Outside of work, Jennifer enjoys reading books in the park, searching for great ice cream, and performing as an opera singer.


 

Beth Frost | Director of Programming

Beth oversees the development of AGN’s educational programs and resources. Her experience includes work in annual giving and stewardship at a variety of educational and nonprofit organizations including St. Andrew’s Episcopal School, the University of Texas, and Easter Seals Central Texas. She holds a B.A. in French from the University of Texas at Austin and is certified in business administration (Texas McCombs School of Business), marketing (FHSU), and grant writing (ACC). Outside of work, Beth enjoys reading, hiking, and spending time with her friends and family.


 

Natalie Locke | Production Manager

Natalie manages the production of AGN’s various programs and activities. Her experience includes work in education, event management, and performing arts, including teaching theater, dance, story, and communication. She holds a B.F.A. in Music Theatre and B.A. in Dance from Elon University and an M.F.A. in Theater Arts from University of Idaho. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family, learning historical factoids, and singing at any opportunity, especially in the car.

 


Advisory Board


Adam Bradley

Adam has over 10 years of experience in annual giving and educational advancement and has led programs at The University of Michigan and its Ross School of Business. He also led research and recruiting efforts at Qualigence International. He holds a B.B.A. in Marketing and a certificate in strategic leadership from the University of Michigan.


 

Vanessa Carta

Vanessa has over 15 years of experience in educational fundraising and has led programs at the University of Massachusetts Boston and its Graduate School of Policy and Global Studies. She holds B.A. in Religious Studies and Sociology from Santa Clara University and an M.A. in Conflict Resolution, Human Security, and Global Governance from UMass Boston.


 

Amanda Davis

Amanda has over 15 years of experience in annual giving and educational fundraising and has led programs at The University of Oklahoma Foundation, Oklahoma State University Foundation, and the University of New Orleans. She holds B.A. in English and Sociology from the University of Missouri-Columbia and an M.P.A. from the University of Missouri-Kansas City.


 

Gina Fiorillo

Gina has over 20 years of experience in annual giving and educational fundraising and has led programs at the Rutgers University Foundation, Kean University, and Douglass College. She holds a B.A. in English from Douglass College and an M.P.A. from the School of Public Affairs & Administration at Rutgers University.


 

Gloria Goosby

Gloria has over 15 years of experience in annual giving and educational fundraising and has led programs at Furman University and Georgia Southern University. Her other experience includes work with the Southeast Annual Giving Conference Committee and the Statesboro-Bulloch County Chamber of Commerce. She holds a B.S. in Broadcasting from Georgia Southern University.


 

Meredith Johnston

Meredith has over 20 years of experience in annual giving and educational fundraising and has led programs at Scripps Research, UC Riverside, UC San Diego, and Oklahoma State University. She holds a B.A. in Literature from the University of North Texas.


 

Christy Moss 

Christy has over 15 years of experience in annual giving and educational fundraising and has led programs at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and Greenville University. She holds a B.A. in Communication from Greenville University and an M.S. in Information Science from the University of Illinois.


 

Melinda Phillips 

Melinda has over 15 years of experience in annual giving and educational fundraising and has led programs at Vanderbilt University and its Owen Graduate School of Management. Her other experience includes work with the Annual Giving Directors Consortium and the Rhodes College Alumni Board. She holds a B.A. from Rhodes College and an M.T.S. from Harvard Divinity School.


 

Mary Risner 

Mary has over 20 years of experience in annual giving and educational fundraising and has led programs at Westover School, Brown University, University of Pennsylvania, and Franklin & Marshall College. She holds a B.S. in Business Economics from Bloomsburg University and an M.S. in Organizational Dynamics from the University of Pennsylvania.


 

Craig Waltman 

Craig has over 20 years of experience in annual giving and educational fundraising and has led programs at Haverford College, Swarthmore College, and Pathway School. His other experience includes work with STAFF (Sharing the Annual Fund Fundamentals) and the Chester Valley Little League Board. He holds a B.A. in Psychology from Elizabethtown College.
