Dan Allenby | Principal & Founder

Dan is an author, speaker, and consultant who has worked with educational institutions for more than 25 years to improve their fundraising results. An internationally recognized expert on annual giving, he is a CASE Laureate and recipient of the prestigious Crystal Apple Award for Teaching Excellence. His book Ideas for Annual Giving offers designs for helping organizations increase their levels of sustainable philanthropic support.

Dan has led annual giving and membership programs at Boston University, Tufts University, Georgetown University, and the National Geographic Society. He also served on the faculty for CASE’s Summer Institute in Educational Fundraising and chaired its Senior Annual Giving Professionals Conference and Annual Giving Workshop for five collective terms. He holds a B.A. in History from James Madison University and a M.B.A. from Boston College. Outside of work, Dan enjoys spending time with his family, writing songs, and getting away to the beaches of Cape Cod. Adam Bradley | Consultant & Senior Faculty

Adam is a leader in the field of annual giving and an expert on phonathons, giving days, and fundraising analytics. With over twenty years of experience, he has led programs at The University of Michigan and Qualigence International. He holds a B.B.A. in Marketing from the University of Michigan and a certificate in strategic leadership from the Ross School of Business. Outside of work Adam enjoys watching movies, reading, and spending time with his family and pets. His philosophy is that everything has a purpose.


 

Vanessa Carta | Consultant & Senior Faculty

Vanessa is a leader in the field of educational advancement and an expert on donor relations and stewardship. With over 15 years of experience, she has led programs at the University of Massachusetts Boston and its Graduate School of Policy and Global Studies. She holds B.A. in Religious Studies and Sociology from Santa Clara University and a M.A. in Conflict Resolution, Human Security, and Global Governance from UMass Boston. Outside of work, Vanessa enjoys reading, listening to podcasts, and teaching yoga. Her philosophy is that fulfillment comes from doing the best you can with what you have.


 

Amanda Davis | Consultant & Senior Faculty

Amanda is a leader in the field of educational advancement and an expert on direct appeals, leadership giving, and campaign management. With over 15 years of experience, she has led programs at The University of Oklahoma Foundation, Oklahoma State University Foundation, and the University of New Orleans. She holds B.A. in English and Sociology from the University of Missouri-Columbia and an M.P.A. from University of Missouri-Kansas City. Outside of work, Amanda enjoys watching classic cinema, traveling with her family, and watching the antics of her dogs. Her philosophy is that annual giving is the foundation of all giving.


 

Gina Fiorillo | Consultant & Senior Faculty

Gina is a leader in the field of annual giving and an expert on direct appeals, stewardship, and digital campaigns. With over twenty years of experience, she has led programs at the Rutgers University Foundation, Kean University, and Douglass College. She holds a B.A. in English from Douglass College and an M.P.A from the School of Public Affairs & Administration at Rutgers University. Outside of work, Gina enjoys cooking, pottery, and photography. Her philosophy is that good strategies flow from good data.


 

Gloria Goosby | Consultant & Senior Faculty

Gloria is a leader in the field of annual giving and an expert on giving days, phonathons, employee giving, and next generation philanthropy. With over 15 years of experience, she had led programs at Furman University and Georgia Southern University. She holds a B.S. in Broadcasting from Georgia Southern University where she was also honored by the Alumni Association as one of the school’s top “40 under 40” leaders. Outside of work, Gloria enjoys reading about history and politics, listening to podcasts, and spending time with family and friends. Her philosophy is that calculated risks lead to great achievements.


 

Geoff Hallett | Consultant & Senior Faculty

Geoff is a leader in the field of annual giving and an expert on digital campaigns, giving days, and next-generation philanthropy. With over a decade of experience, he has led programs at Penn State and Bucknell University. He holds a B.A. in Political Science from Bucknell where he also served as the Executive Co-Chair for the school’s senior class gift campaign. Outside of work, Geoff enjoys reading and spending time with his family. His philosophy is that it’s better to aim too high and miss your target, then it is to aim too low and hit it.


 

Meredith Johnston | Consultant & Senior Faculty

Meredith is a leader in the field of educational advancement and an expert on direct appeals, leadership giving, and digital campaigns. With over twenty years of experience, she has led programs at Scripps Research, UC Riverside, UC San Diego, and Oklahoma State University. She holds a B.A. in Literature from the University of North Texas. Outside of work, Meredith enjoys reading, caring for animals, and camping with her family. Her philosophy is that data is your most valuable tool.


 

Christy Moss | Consultant & Senior Faculty

Christy is a leader in annual giving and an expert on direct appeals, digital campaigns, and fundraising analytics. With over 15 years of experience, she has led programs at University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and Greenville University. She holds a B.A. in Communication from Greenville University and an M.S. in Information Science from the University of Illinois. Outside of work, Christy enjoys traveling, visiting art museums, and spending time with family. Her philosophy is that favorable results come from a healthy balance of curiosity and dedication.


 

Melinda Phillips | Consultant & Senior Faculty

Melinda is a leader in the field of annual giving and an expert on leadership giving, volunteer management, and parent engagement. With over 15 years of experience, she has led programs at Vanderbilt University and its Owen Graduate School of Management and served as Vice Chair for the Annual Giving Directors Consortium and as a member of the Rhodes College Alumni Board. She holds a B.A. from Rhodes College and an M.T.S. from Harvard Divinity School. Outside work, Melinda enjoys hiking, cooking, and traveling with friends. Her philosophy is that it always pays to be personal.


 

Mary Risner | Consultant & Senior Faculty

Mary is a leader in the field of educational advancement and an expert on parent engagement, reunion giving, and organizational management. With over 20 years of experience, she has led programs at Westover School, Brown University, University of Pennsylvania, and Franklin & Marshall College. She holds a B.S. in Business Economics from Bloomsburg University and an M.S. in Organizational Dynamics from the University of Pennsylvania. Outside of work, Mary enjoys hiking, listening to live music, rummaging through antique stores, and taking the “slow road” on trips. Her philosophy is that you should always leave things a little better than how you found them.


 

Craig Waltman | Consultant & Senior Faculty

Craig is a leader in the field of annual giving and an expert on strategic planning, direct appeals, and next generation philanthropy. With over 20 years of experience, he has led programs at Haverford College, Swarthmore College, and Pathway School, and is an active member of STAFF (Sharing the Annual Fund Fundamentals) and the Chester Valley Little League Board. He holds a B.A. in Psychology from Elizabethtown College where he also serves as an active alumni volunteer. Outside of work, he enjoys walking his dog, watching baseball and basketball, and spending time with his family. His philosophy is to control everything you can, and roll with the rest.


 

Jennifer Fillare | Operations Manager

Jennifer is a key member of AGN’s operations team and oversees its customer relations, marketing, and information systems. Her experience includes work in project management, event planning, and administration at a variety of organizations within the education, finance, technology, and construction industries. She holds a B.M. in Vocal Performance from Stetson University and an M.M. in Opera Performance from Queens College. Outside of work, Jennifer enjoys reading books in the park, searching for great ice cream, and performing as an opera singer.


 

Beth Frost | Director of Programming

Beth is a key member of AGN’s operations team and oversees the design and development of its various programs and services. Her experience includes work in annual giving and stewardship at a variety of educational and nonprofit organizations including St. Andrew’s Episcopal School, the University of Texas, and Easter Seals Central Texas. She holds a B.A. in French from the University of Texas at Austin and is certified in business administration (Texas McCombs School of Business), marketing (FHSU), and grant writing (ACC). Outside of work, Beth enjoys reading, hiking, and spending time with her friends and family. Her philosophy is that you can never have too much stewardship.


 

Natalie Locke | Production Manager

Natalie is a key member of AGN’s operations team and oversees the production of its various programs and resources. Her experience includes work in education, event management, and performing arts, including teaching theater, dance, story, and communication. She holds a B.F.A. in Music Theatre and B.A. in Dance from Elon University and an M.F.A. in Theater Arts from University of Idaho. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family, learning historical factoids, and singing at any opportunity, especially in the car. Her philosophy is to invest your true self in all that you do fully, personally, and unapologetically.
