Associate Director of Class and Reunion Giving

ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR, CLASS AND REUNION GIVING, Sloan School of Management-Office of External Relations, to lead Sloan’s reunion giving effort.  Will develop a strategy to grow reunion totals beyond $1.5M in cash through the MIT Sloan Annual Fund and encourage prospects to make comprehensive six-, seven- or eight-figure commitments in honor of their reunions; devise overall goals and plans for a pilot reunion giving volunteer program focused on securing leadership-level annual fund gifts; identify, recruit, solicit, train, make solicitation assignments to, support, and steward volunteer fundraisers for the first, fifth, twentieth, twenty-fifth, and thirty-fifth reunions and the graduating class gift; propose class-specific goals and obtain volunteer input and buy-in; solicit annual fund gifts of $2,500-$50,000 from reunion alumni not assigned to or reached by volunteers; and convert volunteer-secured pledges into gifts.  Will collaborate with the associate dean and dean, annual giving officers and Leadership and Principal Gifts, Direct Marketing, Communications, Events, Stewardship, Alumni Engagement, and Administration and Operations areas to make the program a success.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED:  bachelor’s degree, at least five years of annual fund or related experience, and demonstrated success managing volunteers and volunteer programs.  

PREFERRED:  experience overseeing fundraising volunteers; ability to work collaboratively and independently as part of a team; ability to work effectively with potentially large benefactors and high-profile individuals; judgment, discretion, and diplomacy with sensitive/confidential information; excellent communication and presentation skills; willingness to work flexibly and take on new projects as they arise; and ability to work productively from home.  Job #23133-8

Must be able to travel domestically.

Salary range:  $71,175- 95,188- 119,200, based on related experience, expertise, and internal equity.  Generally, new hires can expect pay between the minimum and midpoint of the range.
