Associate Director of Digital Engagement

The Assistant Director of Digital Engagement will use EverTrue, social media and other tools to create digital engagement strategies that cultivate relationships, inspire giving, and build sustained support. Tracking, reporting, and ongoing analysis of results will drive goal setting, growth, and performance evaluations for constituent engagement at Ball State.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of two years of experience in fundraising, marketing, journalism, public relations, communications, or related field.
- Knowledge, skills, and abilities commonly associated with digital media, tools, and software.
- Strong copywriting and editing skills for digital content.
- A genuine interest in and respect for people with diverse backgrounds and interests, and an appreciation for the personal experiences that inspire individual philanthropy.
- Ability to manage a high volume of work across multiple cloud-based platforms and databases in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Strong collaboration and organizational skills, as well as the ability to prioritize effectively.
- Ability to handle confidential information responsibly and interact professionally within a complex organization.
Preferred Education & Experience:
- Master’s degree in related field
- Experience within non-profit or higher education
- Experience with HTML
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Actively manage a portfolio of newly identified Alumni Engagement prospects. Align constituent interests with campus partners and advancement colleagues as an active part of pipeline development within the Foundation.
- Leverage digital technology, including NetCommunity, Fundraiser Performance Management, and EverTrue, as well as social media channels, to build and sustain relationships with managed prospects.
- Bring a strategic mindset to social media, crafting content that capitalizes on the strengths and audiences of different platforms; create measurable, meaningful calls to action via the blog, social media and other digital means, as needed.
- Identify, onboard, and lead social media influencers and social media ambassadors for One Ball State Day.
- Proactively monitor digital engagement and fundraising results to identify trends and opportunities to optimize success; Track exactly who is engaging with us digitally; Plan, track, and execute touch points that reflect an appreciation for each person’s professional and philanthropic interests.
- Research and identify individuals to feature on the blog, social media, video, etc. Flag qualified, digitally engaged prospects and assign/send warm leads to development.
- Create processes for digital engagement pipeline in partnership with prospect research and other foundation colleagues; work with fundraisers to understand their initiatives and priorities (and then creating content that matches).
- Stay relevant and top-of-mind by responding in real-time to digitally engaged alumni/supporters.
- Supervise a student intern.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
