The division of College Advancement has historically achieved engagement and fundraising success. In the last two years, our fundraising activity has doubled and we are investing in ourselves to build on this significant momentum. Collaborating with Washburn & McGoldrick, our campaign consultants, we have strong internal and external support for our fundraising team and the comprehensive campaign.

The Leadership Annual Giving Officer (LGO) is a member of the annual giving team within College Advancement. This 8-person team is responsible for raising annual support for the Gettysburg Fund and the Orange & Blue Club from alumni, parents and friends as well as increasing the College’s alumni participation rate. The team works closely with alumni and parent relations, leadership giving, gift planning, prospect research, donor relations and stewardship and advancement systems. The LGO carries a portfolio of approximately 100 alumni prospects with the capacity to make Cupola Society gifts ($2,500 or more) to the Gettysburg Fund. The LGO is responsible for identifying prospects who should be qualified for a major gift ($100,000 or more) by a major gifts officer. The LGO will also lead all efforts related to the 15th Reunion Class Gift. This newly created position will play an important role in growing the Gettysburg Fund during the comprehensive campaign. The LGO will regularly travel along the DC to NY corridor to build relationships with donors, prospects and volunteers.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required. At least 2 – 3 years of successful experience in fundraising or the equivalent is strongly preferred. Other relevant relationship management, sales, recruiting, and fundraising experience will be considered. Experience with volunteer management is desirable. The preferred candidate will possess the ability to develop and implement effective cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship strategies that result in new and increased Cupola Society gifts to the Gettysburg Fund.

We seek candidates who have the communication skills and cross-cultural abilities to maximize their effectiveness with diverse groups of alumni, parents, students, colleagues, and community members. Organizational and time management skills are essential, as is the ability to work effectively both as part of a team and independently. Professional conduct and appropriate handling of confidential information is required. Must have a valid drivers license, as driving is an essential function of the position.
