Annual Giving Officer

This position serves as the annual giving liaison for 3-4 assigned schools, colleges, and units and is responsible for developing and executing unit-specific and central annual giving strategies, providing regular reporting on key performance metrics, and ensuring best practices are utilized in all annual giving initiatives. This position also plans and executes a minimum of four large-scale, central direct mail campaigns annually and assists with special campaigns throughout the year that focus on increasing UGA’s alumni participation rate. This position is also responsible for managing the annual giving matching gift program including software management, reporting and analytics, and future state recommendations.

Duties and Responsibilities: 

Manage a portfolio of 3-4 school, college, and unit annual giving partnerships. (35%)

  • Plan and implement multi-channel annual giving strategies for assigned schools, colleges, and unit, including direct mail, email, digital, phone, texting, etc.
  • Coordinate special giving campaigns for assigned schools, colleges, and units.
  • Advise school, college, and unit development staff on annual giving best practices and coordinate school, college, and unit involvement with central annual giving initiatives.
  • Analyze key performance metrics for annual and special giving campaigns and provide reports to school, college, and unit liaisons.
  • Serve as the lead annual giving liaison on the team and coordinate efforts among the other annual giving liaisons as needed.

Plan and implement centrally driven annual giving direct mailings. (35%)

  • Plan and execute a minimum of four large-scale central annual giving direct mail projects annually including partnering with the division’s communications department (DARCOMM) to create design and messaging, with central annual giving team to coordinate with schools, colleges, and units, with advancement services to create proper queries and selections, and with vendors to execute the project.
  • Analyze and provide reports on the success of each direct mail project.

Manage the monthly anniversary direct marketing campaign. (15%)

  • Partner with DARCOMM to create design and messaging for the monthly anniversary direct mail and email appeals and with the central annual giving team to accommodate special requests from schools, colleges, and units.
  • Partner with advancement services to create proper queries and selections and adjust as needed throughout the year.
  • Partner with vendor to execute the direct mail project and execute the monthly email process.
  • Analyze and provide regular reports on the success of the project.

Develop and implement an annual giving matching gift program. (10%)

  • Serve as the primary contact and manager of Double the Donation software which supports Match360 which is the matching gift software utilized by the UGA Foundation.
  • Develop a comprehensive matching gift program in partnership with the Office of Business Engagement that supports the schools, colleges, and units with the goal of increasing annual giving revenue.
  • Analyze and provide monthly reports on the success of the matching gift program.
  • Provide recommendations for the future state of the matching gift program to maximize efficiency and performance.

Oversee assignments of student assistant in the Office of Annual Giving. (5%)

Minimum Qualifications: 

Requires at least a baccalaureate degree in the field.  Please contact your Human Resources office for an evaluation of education/experience in lieu of the required minimum qualifications.

Schedule Information: 

8:00am–5:00pm; Must be willing and able to work evenings and weekends as necessary
