Deerfield Academy is seeking an energetic and creative self-starter who demonstrates an ability to engage with a younger, diverse community both in-person and through media channels. Reporting to the Director of the Annual Fund, the Assistant Director of the Annual Fund will work as a member of the Annual Giving team to help reach yearly fundraising goals, while organizing events and engagement opportunities for our youngest graduates (classes 2003-2021) and current students.

Responsibilities Include:

  • manage all fundraising activities for Deerfield graduates 2003-2021;
  • develop and execute a young alumni engagement strategy that cultivates a culture and habit of philanthropy;
  • plan and staff young alumni events nationwide;
  • engage and solicit alumni via tools such as Hustle, ThankView and GiveCampus;
  • recruit and train volunteers to engage their classes and solicit for Deerfield with emphasis on five-year reunions;
  • lead the Senior Class Giving Program and oversee student volunteers;
  • identify, cultivate and coordinate meetings with prospective donors;
  • serve as the liaison to the Young Alumni Subcommittee of the Executive Committee of the Alumni Association;
  • participate in weekend activities: on campus, in an assigned geographic region, as well as other Advancement events;
  • and Travel 25% of each month

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required;
  • 1-3 years in Advancement or similar related work or volunteer experience;
  • excellent verbal and written communication, and organizational skills;
  • ability to manage and motivate volunteers;
  • ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion, and to serving the needs of a diverse community;
  • ability to manage, and sensitivity to, highly confidential information;
  • a high level of integrity and a strong work ethic;
  • skilled with MS Office Suite and familiarity with integrated databases;
  • and the ability and willingness to travel, at least 25% of the time each month.
