Associate Manager of Direct Response and Communication

Job Duties
Working in tandem with advancement and marketing, the successful candidate will be the nexus for all direct response and communications for SFCM patrons.
Advancement (80%)
- Plan, manage, and execute direct response campaigns for the Advancement team, including a multi-channel annual giving program that meets revenue goals for this program and appeals supporting SFCM’s endowment campaign
- Collaborate with the Database/Prospecting Associate Manager on list pulls for all direct mail campaigns
- Develop and execute a program for recurring giving
- Collaborate with Advancement colleagues to develop goals, strategies and messages for constituent segments and reports to measure progress to goal, as well as build a pipeline of new donors
- Working closely with members of the Advancement team, develop and implement engagement strategies to build a base of new supporters for SFCM, including creating an acquisition pathway from patron to donor
- Serve as the primary point of contact for giving to SFCM and provide exceptional customer service to donors on an ongoing basis
- Manage distribution of multi-channel appeals including building and sending email blasts with a direct response component
Marketing and Communications (20%)
- Manage SFCM email communications for donor audiences
- Act as liaison between Ticketing/Box Office, Marketing, and Advancement, so that after each performance, new attendees receive welcome communications, repeat attendees are thanked for their returning patronage, and regular attendees are primed to become donors
- Manage all projects for the institution involving direct mail in tandem with the Marketing and Communication team, including developing print production timelines in SmartSheet for all marketing collateral supporting Advancement, Admissions, Pre-College, and concert promotion and ensuring that projects are completed on time
- Identify and coordinate with printers and mailhouses to inform them of upcoming print projects and timelines and obtain bids
- Identify and coordinate with vendors to ensure quality and cost-effective mailings
- Manage invoicing and payment for mailhouses
- Participate in project kickoff meetings to learn the scope and deliverables for each marketing project in order to help coordinate those deliverables
- Perform Other Duties as Assigned to support the wider Advancement office as needed for events and other projects
- Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in nonprofit fundraising; additional experience in marketing or communications preferred
- Experience in managing and executing mailings and solicitations in a nonprofit setting
- High level of organizational ability; ability to set priorities, manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Demonstrated facility with databases and email programs; experience with Raiser’s Edge and email platforms is a plus
- Ability to work independently and as a member of two interrelated teams, initiate and follow through on projects and ideas, and follow up with diverse constituencies
- Excellent written and oral communications skills
- Exemplary problem-solving, customer service and teamwork skills
- A Bachelor’s degree is required
- Interest in and passion for music a plus
