The Alumni Foundation seeks to hire 2 development officers to serve as fundraisers for Montana State University. Preference will be given to candidates that demonstrate an interest in Science, Technology Engineering and Math, Architecture and/or the Arts including Film, Photography, Art, Music.

A Director of Development (DOD) for the Montana State University Alumni Foundation is responsible for securing and stewarding private charitable gifts from individuals, foundations, and other philanthropic entities to benefit Montana State University. Fundraising responsibilities include cultivating philanthropic relationships by traveling in-state, regionally, and nationally and promoting MSU’s strategic plans and priorities, academic units, funding priorities, and general needs.

Desired candidates must possess a baccalaureate degree, be passionate about the importance of higher education, be highly organized, strong communicators, collaborative and can motivate MSU friends, volunteers, peers, and donors. DOD’s are self-starters, possess a high level of professional integrity, and are motivated by setting and meeting goals. Demonstrated success in major and principle gift fundraising, within a university setting is preferred.
