Assistant Director, Annual Giving
Assists in the overall management of the Annual Giving program. Implements fundraising and stewardship activities for the university. Participates in the identification, development, and stewardship of potential donors from various constituencies and affinity groups.
- Assists with development, implementation and analysis of annual giving and grassroots programs for alumni and other constituent groups, participates in and coordinates annual giving programs such as those designed for parents, students, alumni, and university friends. Documents plans, strategies and procedures.
- Collaborates with staff to develop and implement new donor-centric strategies for engagement, solicitation, and stewardship, focusing primarily on student and young alumni giving, leadership annual giving and loyalty programs.
- Profiles, screens, and solicits annual gift prospects and donors in person, by phone and by mail as assigned.
- Assists with the development and preparation of brochures, reports, correspondence, and informational and solicitation materials including creative concept development, editing/writing scripts and letters, managing workflow and assessing outcomes.
- Plans and conducts meetings, events, and activities to recruit volunteers, build relations with alumni, parents and students, and extend good will to various constituent groups.
- Executes various administrative functions such as preparing and monitoring budgets for various annual giving programs and preparing and maintaining statistical reports on specified fund-raising programs (such as matching gifts and alumni giving).
- Executes leadership gift recognition and solicitation through personal visits, telephone contacts, solicitation letters and e-communications.
- Provides technical knowledge and experience in basic fund-raising principles and fund-raising activities.
- In the absence of the Executive Director/Director of Annual Giving, assumes the decision-making responsibilities under the supervision of the Assistant Vice President of Development.

Qualifications:
- Bachelors and 3 years’ experience
- Requires a thorough understanding of both theoretical and practical aspects of an analytical, technical, or professional discipline; or the basic knowledge of more than one professional discipline. Knowledge of the discipline is normally obtained through a formal, directly job-related 4-year degree from a college or university or an equivalent in-depth specialized training program that is directly related to the type of work being performed. Requires a minimum of three (3) years of directly job-related experience.
