Job Summary

The Associate Director of Annual Giving will work with the Director on the planning and implementation of a dynamic year-round annual giving program, whose purpose is to build a long-term base of support for Central. The position collaborates with all members of the University Advancement (UA) team and consultants to create and increase fundraising goals and results that aim to build and engage CWU constituencies.

Job Duties

Annual Fund:
– Manage a dynamic, multidimensional annual giving program that utilizes a variety of mediums to communicate with and solicit current and potential donors.
– Coordinate, manage, and assess all annual giving fundraising.
– Coordinate and lead efforts with annual giving/campaign consultant on annual giving direct mail, email and social media strategies for appeals, working with the UA Communications team on brand adherence and approvals and the greater UA team on the annual communication calendar.
– Assist Director in managing relationship with annual giving/campaign consultant.
– Assist Director in assessment of ROI on collaborated efforts with consultant by providing reporting and data analysis on consultant specific efforts.
– Analyze data related to all aspects of the annual giving program and use that data to evaluate programs and provide insight for ongoing solicitations.
– Assist the Director in setting goals for annual giving for annual, three, and five-year increments.
– Assist with budget management for annual giving programs.
– Lead efforts for Day of Giving (#GiveCentral) and a Faculty and Staff Giving Campaign.
– Working with student leaders to develop and maintain an annual senior class gift campaign.
– Manage efforts to increase donor retention rate.
– Add a personal element to Central’s Annual Giving program.

Portfolio:
– Manage a portfolio of approximately 75-100 annual giving prospects; develop, document and implement engagement and solicitation strategy for each assigned prospect.
– Provide a high level of service and communication to all internal and external constituents; conduct over 60 visits (video conference or in-person) annually with assigned or prospective donors.
– Manage all aspects of a portfolio including qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of assigned prospects.
– Coordinate with Wildcat Network Officers on strategy face-to-face annual giving solicitations.
– Qualify major gift prospects for Directors of Development when necessary.

Call Center:
– Lead and direct a call center of four students to supplement annual giving efforts.
– Manage a calling calendar to strategically call donors and alumni for annual gifts.
– Work with operations to build calling lists for students.
– Use data to inform strategic plan for call center.
– Recruiting, supervising, training and coaching student ca;;ers (4); setting program/student goals and tracking performance.
– Ensure accuracy on data integration from calling into database.
– Manage annual giving pledge reminders and fulfillment calling.
– Coordinate texting efforts.

Other Duties as Assigned:
– Assisting in other donor activities as identified by supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least one year of related work experience
  • Experience in sales or fundraising
  • Project and/or program management experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational skills, with exceptional attention to detail
  • Highly developed communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability and/or experience working with students and/or co-workers from a wide range of abilities, backgrounds and experiences
  • OR any combination of education and experience which clearly demonstrates the ability to perform the essential functions of the job.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Annual Giving experience
  • Higher Education Experience
  • Database management or donor software experience, particularly Raiser’s Edge
  • A record of promoting inclusivity in the work environment.
