Job Summary

SHSU is seeking an energetic, highly motivated individual to manage the telephone solicitation program to generate annual support from alumni and friends of Sam Houston State University.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Recruits, trains, supervises and motivates a large staff of student callers.
• Coordinates the training materials and calling strategies.
• Compiles and analyzes results and prepares reports.
• Responsible for follow-up and collection of pledges.
• The Phonathon Manager is a team member of the University Advancement division and participates with other annual giving programs that include, but are not limited to, Young Alumni giving, Student giving, and social media strategies, as required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Two years experience in fundraising, telemarketing, marketing, or related area.
• Strong organizational skills, excellent communication skills, strong work ethic, and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
• Must be willing to work a flexible schedule with evening and some weekend hours.
• Experience with telemarketing software and Raiser’s Edge, or similar constituent management software, preferred, but not required.
• Proficient with current technology for performance of duties, experience with Microsoft Word and Excel is required.
