Detailed Job Description:

  • Create, implement, and assess a comprehensive and strategic annual giving program that maximizes philanthropic support and involvement of alumni and constituents of RIT, and meets University Advancement goals.
  • Coordinate, execute, and assess direct mail, e-solicitation, and other strategies designed to increase alumni giving and engagement, building a pipeline for leadership and major gifts.
  • Alongside the Executive Director, develop the narrative and design content of the annual giving strategy.
  • Collaborate with Marketing & Communications, campus partners, and/or outside vendors to create and produce effective collateral materials in support of annual giving initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the Advancement Services team to effectively leverage and analyze constituent data in support of effective donor identification, cultivation, and solicitation.
  • Engage Major Gift Officers and other Advancement staff in the development, implementation, and assessment of strategies to increase membership in the Sentinel Society.
  • Managing RIT’s partnership with the Student Call Center vendor. Working with vendor and Advancement Services colleagues to plan and execute a multi-channel engagement plan. Coordinate student employment activities and oversee student payroll process.
  • In conjunction with the entire Alumni & Constituent Engagement Team, may develop and organize annual giving events.
  • Oversee fundraising platform for success in digital giving including ROAR Day and other digital engagement opportunities that meet strategy which might include RIT’s Get in the Game and crowdfunding.
  • As our team grows, this position may have the opportunity in supervise new staff.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimal travel required
  • Ability to work nights and weekends as needed.

Education/Experience:

  • 5 years experience in fundraising, donor relations, stewardship or equivalent skill, preferred in higher education.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience

Skills:

  • Proven record of fundraising success and/or knowledge in annual giving.
  • Goal-oriented with a proven ability to engage donors and prospects.
  • Demonstrated ability to work successfully with high level university administrators, faculty, donors and volunteers.
  • Excellent team skills to engage with colleagues across University Advancement.
  • Knowledge or ability to learn industry specific software, including annual giving digital platforms.
  • Strong leadership abilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent computer skills and advanced use of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Microsoft Excel.
  • Supervisory experience.
  • Minimal travel required
  • Ability to work nights and weekends as needed.
