Associate Director, Stewardship & Donor Relations
ASSOCIATE DIRECTOR, STEWARDSHIP AND DONOR RELATIONS, Alumni Association, to play a key role in developing and implementing a comprehensive stewardship plan for all annual giving donors to the Institute. Will be responsible for reporting on pooled funds for scholarships, professorships, and student research opportunities known as UROPs; act as the lead contact for the Annual Giving Loyalty Circle (three-plus consecutive years) program, including managing a volunteer chair and data analysis that informs strategies; manage special events for Annual Giving Leadership Circle donors ($2,500+); and serve as an on-campus facilitator for stewardship activities, including MIT’s annual giving day.
Job Requirements:
REQUIRED: bachelor’s degree; three years of experience in stewardship/donor relations, communications, or related field; excellent interpersonal, project management, planning, organizational, presentation, and written and oral communication skills; strategic and analytical approach to responsibilities; openness to change; initiative; attention to detail; discretion and good judgment with confidential information; and proficiency with computers and standard applications (including Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint). Must be able to establish effective working relationships with colleagues, alumni, and other constituents; work collaboratively as part of a team in a diverse service-oriented office; influence others and move toward a common vision or goal; multitask and prioritize multiple assignments and meet tight deadlines without compromising quality in a busy, demanding, high-volume work environment; and effectively develop and deliver training sessions for a wide variety of audiences. PREFERRED: background in special events and/or stewardship; ability to recruit, motivate, train, and manage volunteers; and familiarity with donor database, event, (e.g., Cvent), and web presentation tools/software (e.g., Zoom). This is a hybrid position with a combination of on-campus and remote work.
Must be willing and able to travel and work occasional evenings and weekends.
