Associate Director, Leadership Giving

Babson Park, MAThe Associate Director, Leadership Giving will focus on securing new donors, upgrading previous donors, and stewarding current donors at our leadership giving society level. The Associate Director will manage a portfolio of donors who have the potential to join the leadership giving society or are already donors at the $1,919 level or higher; have a donor goal of 120 meetings annually along with upgrade, acquisition, and outreach metrics; cultivate meaningful relationships with donors and colleagues; and be an active member of the Alumni Engagement and Annual Giving team.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Execute best fundraising practices in an effort to expand the leadership giving society prioritizing donor retention and acquisition.
- Leverage fundraising opportunities such as Back to Babson and other events held locally, domestically, and internationally.
- Manage a portfolio with the objective of identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding donors and prospects -both alumni and parents, with capacity to make a financial philanthropic commitment of $1,919 or more to Babson College; solicit donors for gifts of $1,919+ and identify major gift donors.
- Curate and manage a portfolio of approximately 1,000 annual fund donors who demonstrate an interest in supporting the College on an annual basis.
- Achieve 75% retention rate of donors from the previous fiscal year.
- Acquire new donors to increase alumni participation and drive revenue.
- Partner with the Director, Annual Giving & Marketing and the Stewardship team to re-launch the leadership giving society, identifying and creating a donor-centric experience and a young alumni leadership giving program.
- Maintain strong communication links with internal and external partners to ensure a coordinated approach to prospect engagement.
- Collaborate with the Regional and Affinity team to connect with donors in major cities and leverage events for fundraising opportunities; engage alumni philanthropically through affinity programming.
- Contribute to the planning and execution of giving days and other annual fundraising campaigns.
- Assume an active role in parent engagement and fundraising initiatives, including but not limited to New Student Orientation, Family Weekend at Back to Babson, and collaboration with Associate Director, Affinity Programs & Annual Giving in regards to Legacy programming and appeals.
- Assume additional responsibilities as required.

WHAT EDUCATION AND SKILLS YOU WILL NEED
- Bachelor’s Degree
- A minimum of 6-8 years of experience in fundraising or relevant experience.
- Must have outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
- Must have excellent time management, organizational, oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work independently; as well as collaboratively across multiple constituencies
- Strong customer service orientation
- Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially excel, and other database or CRM systems
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently and with interruptions
- Ability to prepare, write and send solicitations and stewardship pieces.

HOW AND WHERE YOU WILL WORK
- Evening and weekend work required
- Requires the ability to travel both domestically and internationally
- Requires work onsite a minimum of 3 days a week (Monday and a minimum of 2 other days; additional requirements based on outlined department policy); the on-campus requirement is subject to modification based on organizational need.
- Must have had a valid unrestricted U.S. Driver’s License for one year; must maintain throughout employment an insurable (as determined by the College’s insurer’s criteria) or a satisfactory driving record; must successfully complete and pass the College’s vehicle training program within the first 60 days of employment; annual or more frequent review of employee’s driving record based on the College insurer’s criteria; and safety training as required by management.

- Preference to candidates who are fluent in multiple languages.
